Marysa is excited to be in her fourth year as Head Coach of the UConn Men’s Crew team. She started with the program in the spring of 2013 as the Novice Coach. Before that, she coached for both the Colorado State University Crew and Northern Colorado Junior Crew teams in Fort Collins, Colorado during the fall of 2012.
Marysa graduated from Colorado State University with her Bachelor’s degree in Human Development & Family Studies and Early Childhood Education. While at Colorado State Marysa rowed for 4 years, serving as the President of the team for 2 1/2 years, helping to triple the size of the fledgling program, and coxing the men’s 4+ to two gold medals. She first started rowing in 2006 for E.O. Smith High School right here on Coventry Lake.
This will be Ryan’s third year as the Novice Coach of the UConn Men’s Crew team. He joined the team as a freshman in the fall of 2011 as a member of the 1st Novice 8+ as well as the 1st Novice 4+. During his sophomore and junior years, he rowed seven seat in our Varsity 8+. In the first year of coaching at UConn his Novice 4+ medalled at the Head of the Housatonic, Knecht Cup, and earned bronze in the New England Rowing Championships.
Ryan began his rowing career in 2005 with the Newburgh Rowing Club based out of Newburgh, New York, where he eventually continued to row for his high school, Newburgh Free Academy, in 2007. Starting in 2013 he began rowing during the summer, as well as in between semesters with the Orange County Rowing Association.
