Ben is a Geographic Information Science major set to graduate in the Fall of 2023. He is an avid skier and LEGO enjoyer. Ben started to row his senior year of college, Fall 2022. In high school he was a starter for the tennis team all 4 years and won States in the Virginia 6A division. He also did riflery and trap shooting in high school. Off the water you can find Ben cooking a feast, watching scary movies, napping in the library, or causing some sort of mischief on campus.

Damini is currently majoring in molecular and cell biology. She rowed for three years for the Glastonbury HS girls team and became a coxswain her senior year due to injuries. She spent the past summer coxing at Riverfront and Central CT rowing. She loves wearing crocs, never typing correctly, eating bad ramen, and taking pictures of people with the 0.5 lens.

Dom is a Senior majoring in Environmental Engineering. He rowed for 3 years in high school, most notably competing at the Head of The Charles Regatta in his school’s Varsity 8. He joined the team during his second semester at UConn and is ready to continue his journey as a rower for many years to come. Outside of rowing you can see him directly impacting the local fish population.

James joined UConn Men’s Crew in Fall of 2023 with 7 years of prior rowing experience. He graduated from Fairfield Prep Crew in 2020 and was awarded the Coach’s award. For the past three summers he has been a Master’s and JV/Novice coach at Maritime Rowing Club in Norwalk, CT. If not rowing James can be found: Drinking chocolate milk.

Katie is a biology major. She joined the team fall of her freshman year and has yet to escape. When not deskeging boats she enjoys reading, coaching for CLCR, and beating her teammates at Catan.

Luke Withstandley is stuttering his way to get a bachelors in Natural Resources with a concentration in fisheries and wildlife, and a minor in Fine Arts with a concentration in ceramics. This is Luke’s 3rd year rowing for UCONN and his 7th year rowing overall. He is looking forward to rowing more for UCMC. Some of Luke’s hobbies include hiking, boat building, and doing research on invasive species (which he does not like). He can give you some cool animal facts if you ever ask him or want to know something interesting about animals.

He competed in CPSRA spring championships for 2 consecutive years, and his team his senior year went undefeated. He is glad he has found an opportunity to be a competitive rower at UConn. Paul is undecided about his major. In high school he was on the E.O Smith rowing team where he fell in love with rowing. Paul’s vessel to get to classes is a 2011 stick shift VW Golf GTI. Some of what Paul will do for entertainment may include ripping a 10k, going on a nice bike ride and photography. During the cold winter months, you will find him on the slopes on a pair of twin tip or carving skis. He may be bilingual but I wouldn’t trust him rowing starboard without significant time to prepare.

Sarah is a statistics major. In high school, she rowed for about 1 year at Great River Rowing and learned to row at Yale Community Rowing. She joined the team Fall 2022 to try coxing and loved the experience! In her free time you can find her reading about math, enjoying a nap, watching a scary movie, or going on a nature walk (she refuses to hike).

Bryan is a freshman undecided major but wants to go into Digital Media and Design. He played Ice hockey, track and field, soccer and cross country in his Massachusetts high school. In his off season he was in charge of his school's ping pong club and in a school based news station club. He loves Star Wars, Legos and Military history. He was called out and joined UConn Men's Crew after thinking it wouldn't be to hard of a sport... he was wrong but still enjoys rowing.
