Lighties Win Gold at Knecht

This past weekend we traveled down to Cherry Hill, New Jersey for Knecht Cup. We ended up losing a day of racing due to 40 mph wind gusts, but we made the most of it by taking a trip to Philly on Saturday.

Our first race of the day on Sunday was the Novice 4+ event. Our lightweight novice boat performed very well, coming first in their heat with a time of 7:49.96, .08 seconds faster than second place. Unfortunately due to cancelled Saturday racing, we did not get to see them perform in the grand final and so they were placed 8th based on their raw time. Our second Novice 4+ placed 16th with a time of 8:36.04.

The next event was the Lightweight 4+. Our boat excelled in this event with a time of 7:13.00, beating the pack by 45.3 seconds and taking home gold.

The heavies also performed well in the Club 4+ event, coming second in their heat with a time of 7:34.54 and 4th overall, only .77 seconds off of third.

We finished off the day with the Club 8+ event. Our boat came 3rd in their heat and 6th overall with a time of 6:.51.55. Unfortunately, the quad event was canceled so our lineup was not able to go out.

Overall it was a great day of racing and a great day to be sub 160. Thanks to all those who came out to support us. We hope to see you again this weekend at Patriot Cup.
