Spring Break 2025 - Back on the Water and Building Bonds!
As the winter finally loosened its grip, UCMC took full advantage of spring break to hit the water, sharpen our technique, and strengthen our team bonds. From double-session practices to relaxing team bonding events, this week was a perfect blend of hard work and camaraderie.
Kicking Off the Season with the Boathouse Opening

We kicked off spring break on Saturday, March 15, with the official boathouse opening. The entire team came together to de-winterize our equipment, rig the boats, put together the docks, and get everything ready for a full week of training. The excitement was palpable as we stepped into our shells for the first strokes of the spring season.
Double-Session Practices: A Week of Hard Work

Starting Monday, March 17, we settled into an intense training schedule with 6:00 AM and 4:00 PM practices each day. These sessions focused on refining technique, building endurance, and re-establishing rhythm on the water after months of winter training. With the extra volume, we made significant technical and fitness gains—setting the tone for a strong racing season ahead.
Bowling and Pizza Night at Lucky Strikes
After a demanding week of training, we took Friday evening off to unwind with a team bowling night at Lucky Strikes. Laughter, friendly competition, and, of course, pizza filled the night as we strengthened the bonds that will carry us through the season. Whether it was a strike, a spare, or a gutter ball, everyone had a blast celebrating a successful week of training.
