Mother Nature Prevails at Head of the Fish Regatta

As the Huskies traveled to Saratoga Springs NY, the forecast looked bleak with freezing rain projected throughout the day. It was only noon when the winds peaked over 20 mph, leading the regatta organizers to cancel racing for the rest of the day.

Fortunately, the crew did not come up short as four boats were able to get on the water before racing culminated for the day. Braving the toughest conditions all year, the second Novice 8+ secured second, the two V4+ boats finished 6th and 3rd in their respective A and B races, while the first Novice 8+ finished 7th.

This wrapped up Fall racing for the varsity squad, while the Novice rowers seek to carry their momentum to a home scrimmage vs. UMass next weekend at Patriot Park.
