Novices Medal at Riverfront and Housatonic
UConn Men’s Crew has completed our first two regattas of the season. We are training hard, and looking forward to the Head of the Snake this weekend in Worcester, Massachusetts.
At the Head of the Riverfront our Men’s Open 8+s placed 11th and 18th. Our Men’s Novice Open 8+ placed first, winning the event by 18 seconds over second place, Wesleyan. Our three Men’s Open 4+s placed 9th, 10th, and 11th respectively in a field of 16.
At the Head of the Housatonic our Men’s Collegiate (Non-IRA) 8+s placed 11th and 14th out of 18. Our walk-on novices completed their first race this weekend and placed 4th, 5th, and 6th in the Men’s Collegiate Novice Eight category. The Men’s Novice Collegiate 4+ placed first, winning their event by 35 seconds. To finish out the day, our Men’s Open 4+ placed 8th and 14th.
