All Novices Medal at Wormtown Chase!

The Wormtown Chase will hopefully become a classic for the UCMC fall racing season. Ever since the team’s first arrival in 2023, UCMC has shown no distaste for the race, and is always filled to the brim with excitement upon arrival at the course. This 3-mile-long head race is located in Worcester Massachusetts on the Quinsigamond Lake that took place on Saturday, October 26, 2024. The race features a straight shot from the start to the finish, making it a Regatta that just about any spectator can watch and understand. 

UCMC entered a total of 5 boats. The Lineups were as follows (Coxswain, Stroke… Bow):

Not to mention, BOTH of UCMC’s Novice boats won themselves some medals! The Novice 4+ earned silver medals, and the Novice 8+ won bronze. More than half of our team consists of Novice rowers, and all of them were able to earn a medal just in this past race! What a great way to close off the Fall Racing Season.

This doesn’t mean that UCMC is done training though. We have the rest of the semester and Winter Vacation to make sure that our fitness is in top shape to race again in the Spring. In the meantime, we’ll be sure to come out with updates whenever the “next big thing” happens regarding our favorite Crew Team!
